Slovenia borders Italy, Austria, Hungary, Croatia and is one of the smallest countries in Europe. The capital, Ljubljana, is situated in the heart of the country, along the banks of the Ljubljana River, within a two-hour drive of all the state borders. The old part of the town is particularly delightful.

Language: Slovene, which is closely related to Croat and Czech. Most Slovenes speak German, Hungarian or Italian, with English as a second language.
