Day
1, Fri: Minsk
Upon arrival at Minsk, the capital of Belarus, we transfer to our
hotel. In the afternoon we take a tour of Minsk that includes the Lower and Upper Towns, Independence
Square with the House of Government, Victory Square with its eternal flame to the victims of World War II, Island of Tears and Troitskoye Predmestye (Trinity Suburb),
restored buildings of the 19th century. (O)
Day 2, Sat: Minsk - Vitebsk
We leave Minsk for Vitebsk. An en route stop in Strochitsa’s outdoor museum represents all the
ethnographic regions of Belarus with typical building features, life style and everyday house ware, tools,
kitchenware, glassware, earthenware, etc. (B,O)
Day 3, Sun: Vitebsk
A full day tour of Vitebsk. Founded in 974, the town is now called the cultural capital of Belarus. The tour
features the old streets of Vitebsk, the City Hall, “Slavic Bazaar” Theatre, a site of an international art festival held every summer, and, of course, the Museum of Mark Chagall and gallery.

Day 4, Mon: Minsk
We head back to Minsk with an en-route visit to the Khatyn War Memorial dedicated to the village people who were burnt together with their village by the Nazi in 1943. Check in at the hotel in Minsk with the remainder of the day at your disposal.

Day 5, Tues: Vilnius
Departure to Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. In the afternoon your city tour features Vilnius Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site that includes the Old Town’s main attractions with it endless church domes, steeples and magnificently restored buildings. The tour begins at Cathedral Square dominated by the Cathedral itself and Gediminas Castle, the principle landmark of Vilnius, then via the President’s Palace to Vilnius University. After visiting the University courtyards the tour continues along the main streets of the Old Town, Pilies St., to the Gothic corner of Vilnius to St Anne’s Church. Then the tour continues to the only surviving city gate and ends in the old Town Hall Square.

Day 6, Wed: Vilnius
Today’s sightseeing features Trakai and Kaunas. Trakai, the former capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and one of the country’s oldest towns, now famous for its 15th century red-brick Gothic Castle built on one of the small islands in Lake Galve. Once the seat of the Lithuanian dukes, the Castle now houses a museum of local history and a huge collection of objects d’art including furniture, ceramics, snuff boxes, pipes,
etc. Continuing on to Kaunas, the interim capital of Lithuania between the two World Wars, we see the main architectural and historic sites of the Old Town, Town Hall Square, the Jesuit Church, the 14th century Cathedral, Vytautas Church, the Perkunas House, courtyard of the Theological Seminary and the ruins of Kaunas Castle.

Day 7, Thu: Warsaw
Mid-day we transfer to the railway station to board the train to Warsaw. Upon arrival in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, we transfer to our hotel.

Day 8, Fri: Warsaw
Today’s sightseeing tour of Warsaw lets you discover the Old Town with its famous Castle Square, magnificent cathedral of St John and the site of the Warsaw ghetto. Then the tour continues to Lazienki Park, which lies along the banks of the Vistula River. Most notable for its Palace on the Water, the park’s landscaped gardens are a favorite for locals and tourists alike. Our sightseeing ends with an excursion to Wilanow Palace, a former royal summer residence, and a fine example of Baroque architecture.

You transfer to the airport for your flight back home.(B)
