Day 1: - Frankfurt - Heidelberg
Start your tour with a regular diversified half day trip to
Heidelberg, the old university town at the banks of Neckar-River,
including a visit of the inner courtyard of Heidelberg Castle
and a lunchbox. After returning to Frankfurt, the rest of the
day is free to explore the city. (O)
Day 2: - Frankfurt - Rothenburg
Depart from Frankfurt for a picturesque drive through the
Spessart mountains to Wurzburg, on the banks of the river Main. Continue
on the Romantic Road to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany's
well-preserved "Jewel of the Middle Ages" with its ramparts,
city gates, town hall and Jakobskirche (church) with an altar by the
famous wood-carver Tilmann Riemenschneider. Upon arrival in Rothenburg,
a taxi will take you to your hotel. In the afternoon or evening please
join the city walk with a local guide or the historic Night Watchman in
Rothenburg. (B/O)
Day 3: - Rothenburg - Munich
After breakfast, a taxi will meet you at your hotel and take you to the
bus stop. Your coach drives along the Romantic Road passing such
picturesque places as Dinkelsbuhl, Nordlingen and Donauworth, with
high-gabled houses and cobbled-stone streets. Via Augsburg, a metropolis
during the Roman times and famous for old trade dynasties during the
Middle Ages, you reach Munich, where your tour ends at approximately
5:00pm. (B)
