Good introduction to the Wines of the Rhone Valley. Sightseeing in the vineyards and stops at 2 different wineries producing red, rosé, and white wines (including Châteauneuf du Pape). During the tour, explanations about "terroir", grape varieties, vinification and aging cellars.
Also, get a touch with French History, with great views from the cellars over castles or mansions dating from the 17th or 18th century (11th century for the oldest). 2 or 3 wine tasting in authentic family run wineries at least 4/5 different wines. Plus, stops at picturesque spots and villages. Departure town Avignon. On Tue, Wed, Fri & Sat: Orange (Roman Theatre) and Chateauneuf du Pape (1 wine tasting). Approximately 4hrs.
