Pick up at Bordeaux and transfer to Saint-Emilion. Guided visit of St Emilion, medieval city, UNESCO world heritage site and one of the centers of Bordeaux wine-making. Visit and tasting to the Château Ferrand, Gran d Cru classé of Saint Emilion. Transfer to Sarlat, medieval town in a region known in France as the Périgord Noir. It has been exceptionally well-preserved and is one of the town’s most representative of the 14th century in France. More than 1000 years of architecture live in its lanes, roof-tiles and stone walls. Settle in a 3 (or) 4-star Hotel. Gourmet dinner where you will discover a range of typical dishes. Overnight at your hotel. (D,O) Day 2: Truffle Experience & Perigord Villages Today is devoted to the " Black Diamond " the truffle of Perigord. Departure to St Cyprien for visit and initiation of “cavage” that will show the techniques of findings the truffles with a dog. Truffled lunch at the Ferme Auberge Pechalifour. Then transfer to the beautiful village of Beynac-et-Cazenac and enjoy a boat ride an authentic Gabarre river boat. Back to Sarlat. Dinner at leisure & Overnight at the hotel. (B,O)
Day 3: Market in Sarlat & Domme (every Wed & Sat) Breakfast at your hotel. Today you will discover Sarlat through its gastronomy as it is the capital of an exceptional "terroir". You will experience the famous Farmer's market, an unmissable spot and one of the most beautiful in all of the South West. You will taste the local specialties such as foie gras, chestnuts, walnuts, milla (pumpkin cake), strawberries, the cabecou goat’s cheeses, wines.... You will then enjoy a guided walking tour of historic Sarlat, rich merchant tow n during the 13th to 16th century. This afternoon, you will discover the small medieval village of Domme and you will visit and tour a local farm which will introduce you to the production of foie gras, walnuts, shelled walnuts and walnut oil. Your tour will end with a foie gras tasting session. Gourmet Dinner. Overnight at the hotel. (B,D,O)
Day 4: Bordeaux & Departure After breakfast transfer to Bordeaux; You will enjoy a guided visit of Bordeaux, UNESCO Heritage. You will be able to discover the new heart of the City. From the vestiges of the Middle Ages to the elegance of 18th century, you will discover the different golden ages of Bordeaux's history, dominated by the wine trade and various colonial influences.
